Setting up a Reverse DNS (PTR) record is critical for the correct operation of mail servers. A PTR record links your server's IP address with its domain name (Hostname).
Why is it important?
Most mail services check for a PTR record. If the record is missing or does not match your server's Hostname, your emails may be blocked.
How to setup:
- Go to "Services" -> "My Servers".
- Select the desired server.
- In the management tab, find the "IP Addresses" section.
- Click on the field in the "PTR/rDNS" column next to the IP address.
- Enter the server's fully qualified domain name (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com) and click "Save".
